Dear Blog,
No, I haven't forgotten about you. In fact I think of you often... About stories to share and about the plans I have for you.
Then, I don't make time to write. And some updates seem too far gone, or I don't have the right photos for that, or I'm too tired to make sense of my thoughts after the girls are gone to bed, or yada yada insert all kinds of excuses. Basically I can't make it perfect so I just won't do it. Not saying that all my previous posts were perfect by any means, but do you catch my drift? Do you ever put something off because things weren't ideal, or you're new at it, or you're too far behind, okay, enough! I'm calling BS on myself!
Who cares if it's not "perfect." Write anyway. Just start!
This decision (after much debate, cause I sort of have a love/hate relationship with the internet) sparked from a post & quote one of my favourite bloggers to follow, Laura, shared on Instagram not long ago. Like me, she kept thinking about writing and finally decided to just start. She quoted Jill Briscoe who said "the secret to 'doing it all' is not necessarily doing it all, but rather discovering which part of the 'all' [God] has given us to do and doing all of THAT." This really resonated with me.
On top of that I sort of found an overlap in my latest life "revelations"... I recently started making time for yoga or exercise in the mornings. Something I had put off way too long. And [for yoga] a lot of it came back to excuses. Again bullshit excuses, like I'm not flexible enough, I don't know what I'm doing, etc. But the point is I'm new and I need practice and JUST START! (Coming across this post about starting yoga totally helped, too.)
Yes, it was a blog post (again) that got me thinking - ha ha, clearly I just love blogs! Which in itself is a *sign* (and I'm a big believer in signs & reasons & right place/right time) that maybe I should start writing on mine. Because who knows, maybe my words and stories will matter to others too. Or they at least deserve to be documented.
So thank you to all of you that continue to check this space for updates. Today you will be pleasantly surprised to see this post and new look after my almost 3 month hiatus. Truth be told, December was about the holidays and spending time with family who were visiting. January was my first month without company since Autumn was born! It was nice to get in to my own groove as a mommy to two. And it was helpful to "unplug" a little bit. Now, I'm ready to write about it. So stay tuned for my 'stories to share and big plans' ;)
As always, thanks for reading xo
